1.Tony’s Bakery, Cabramatta 

This Vietnamese bakery in Cabramatta is known for their pork rolls, but the $3 pandan and coconut waffle here is a delicious and cheap dessert worth trying as you walk around and explore John Street.

2. Le Mochi, Burwood

Mochi with the consistency of muah Chee - more chewy and malleable than Japanese mochi. We recommend ordering the $5.50 rolling mochi, which is a cup of mochi pieces rolled in 3 kinds of nut powder. Aside from being a cheap dessert, it’s also quite filling!

3. Emperor’s Puffs, Chinatown 

This is the OG cheap dessert in Sydney! You’ll find the little hole in the wall stall in the main Chinatown strip. You can pick up their famous $0.60 custard puffs, which are little pancakes shaped like bar buns filled come with piping hot custard. Order more than you think you’ll want because once you start eating… you can’t stop!

4. Kaysone Sweets, Cabramatta

Visit this family run Thai and Lao dessert shop in the heart of Cabramatta for their famous $1 banana fritters! Crunchy and sweet, these fried bananas are super cheap and addictive as a snack! They also have taro and sweet potato flavours too.

5. Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tarts, Chatswood

You can pick up a $1 matcha soft serve in a cone here at Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tarts - but be aware, this deal is only available at their Chatswood location.

6. Maruyu, Town Hall

This Japanese supermarket in town hall sells a variety of Japanese speciality food items, but make sure to get a $3 matcha soft serve from the front counter. It’s a creamy, not too bitter ice cream that will want you going back for seconds!

7. Fujimi Dorayaki, Burwood 

If you’re after a cheap dessert in Burwood Chinatown, try the $5 peanut butter Nutella pancake sandwich here are Fujimi Dorayaki!

8. Show Nom, Haymarket

This stall in Haymarket specialises in Thai desserts which are made to order right in front of customers. The $7.90 Thai toast comes in a variety of flavours, and is toasted with butter for a crunchy outside and fluffy inside!

9. Mixue, World Square 

Famous global bubble tea chain has lots of cheap items on the menu, but the $3.60 brown sugar boba sundae is our favourite!

10. Gacha Cafe, Town Hall 

This little cafe in the Meriton building serves ice cream and cheap desserts, like the $5.50 bingsu in various flavours.
