Bsp’eria, Penshurst - Review

delicious authentic italian pizza from Bsp’eria in penshurst

If you’re looking for top quality pizza in Sydney’s southern suburbs, Bsp’eria is a spot definitely worth checking out!

Bsp’eria used to be in a tiny hole in wall location right next to Penshurst train station, but has recently moved to a more spacious location on the corner of Laycock Road and Hillcrest Avenue. The new spot is features minimalist modern decor with an open kitchen for customers to watch all the pizza making action!

While the menu at Bsp’eria is small, everything is crafted to perfection and there’s something for everyone’s tastes. The Neapolitan-style sourdough bases are probably some of the best in the area, if not the whole of Sydney.

So, what should you order at Bsp’eria? Well, we recommend the Margherita pizza, burrata with mortadella and pesto, and the chocolate chip sea salt tiramisu. Our favourite option here is the Uncle Charlie pizza, which comes with a white base, mozzarella, nduja (spicy sausage paste), ricotta swirls, honey and parsley. The unique flavour combo of spicy, sweet and salty is a fan favourite for a reason! Pizzas range from $22-27, which is fairly standard for Sydney pricing.

Limited dine-in seating is available however that doesn’t seem to be too much of an issue, as Bsp’eria is more of a takeaway institution for locals and visitors alike. Service is friendly and personal, which makes for an overall great experience.
