Son Of A Baker, Sydney - Review

Yummy burek pastry cheese and spinach from Son of a Baker Miranda cafe

Son Of A Baker’s outpost in Miranda Westfield serves up their famous burek and decadent pastries in a kiosk environment, which is great for a takeaway or a quick bite while shopping.

For those of our readers who aren’t familiar with burek, the best way to describe this savoury would be a cross between gozleme and pastizis. The pastry has a mix between chewy and crispy textures, and usually has fillings like meat, cheese and spinach. Cut into slices like a pizza, and is an awesome hand-held meal when you’re craving something to eat on the go!

Our go-to order here is the classic cheese and spinach burek, followed by a cheeky Nutella hazelnut croissant if we’re in the mood for sugary bliss.

For the caffeine fiends out there, Son Of A Baker regularly has a line for coffee too, which we can only imagine is a good sign considering the cafe competition in the area.

We always get an extra few burek for takeaway - they reheat perfectly in the oven at home!
