Grind Espresso, Cronulla - Review

nice hot coffee from Sutherland Shire cafe grind espresso at Cronulla beach

Grind Espresso has been a Shire staple for years, and have recently opened up a new shop on Cronulla’s Surf Road.

What makes this cafe stand out from the crowd? Well first off, we love the retro vibe which is a nice change from the coastal theme of the area. With jazz instruments hanging from the roof and an old train timetable board for the menu, the quirky decor is fun and refreshing.

Grind Espresso also roasts their own coffee beans in house, so there’s a lovely toasty aroma wafting in the air as you walk by. With different blends of the day and single origin options, this is a place for coffee aficionados who crave more than just a standard cappuccino. We tried ‘Honduras’ blend - it had a full bodied fruity flavour with just a touch of acidity and nuttiness. Overall it was a great coffee, and judging by the long line of patrons waiting for their orders, we’d say lots of others would agree.

With a great street frontage close to South Cronulla beach and the Esplanade, we can’t wait to see what happens when lockdown is over and table service begins and Grind Espresso.
