Madam Pho, Rhodes - Review

The Sydney suburb of Rhodes probably not the first place you’d think of when hunting for delicious Vietnamese food.

However, if you you look hard enough, you’ll find Madam Pho, a Vietnamese restaurant which could quite possibly give some Cabramatta establishments a run for their money!

Situated on Bamboo Lane, the main restaurant strip inside Rhodes Central shopping centre, Madam Pho is a cosy cafe-style eatery serving Vietnamese comfort food. When we visited mid-morning the place was already busy with hungry patrons, so we knew the food must be good.

We ordered a selection of our favourite Vietnamese dishes, including pork spring rolls, combination beef pho, crispy chicken with tomato rice, combination broken rice and Bún Chả - Grilled pork with vermicelli. In usual Vietnamese restaurant style, you’ll find condiments and cutlery packed neatly on your table. Portions are on the larger side, which is fine by us!

We didn’t have any complaints about the food here at Madam Pho. Everything we ordered was colourful and tasty, ringing true to what we expect from quality Vietnamese cuisine. The standout dish was definitely the  Bún Chả - the sauce was so flavourful, we didn’t leave one drop! Some other honourable mentions would have to be the spring rolls and crispy chicken. The prices were also very reasonable, making it an affordable lunch or dinner option.

If you’re in the market for a hearty Vietnamese meal, we’d recommend giving Madam Pho a try. It’s close proximity to Ikea in Rhodes means it will surely become one of our go-to spots in the area.
