Gumshara, Sydney - Review

One of the heavyweights on the Sydney Ramen scene, Gumshara is the perfect option for when you feel like chowing down on a hearty meal.

Don’t let its unassuming location in a basement foodcourt fool you, this place is the real deal when it comes to thick and rich ramen broth. The crowd favourite here is the tonkostu ramen with pork spare rib, which is equal parts heavy and delicious.

Sensitive stomachs beware - the ramen broth here at Gumshara is extremely thick, like almost a gravy consistency. There’s a good chance it may give you a stomach ache, but you know what they say - no pain, no gain! And honestly, there’s so much to gain here with this super concentrated flavourful soup. A regular bowl of Tonkostu Ramen will set you back a measly $13.30, which is amazing value for money.

Apart from Gumshara’s friendly service, we love the little free condiment section, and they even have little pots of light soup so you can thin out your broth if needed. Overall, our verdict: Gumshara is great value for money and a super causal option for dining in Chinatown!
