1. Mamak

2. Gumshara

One of the heavyweights on the Sydney Ramen scene, Gumshara is the prefect option for when you feel like chowing down on a hearty meal. Don’t let its unassuming location in a basement foodcourt fool you, this place is the real deal when it comes to thick and rich ramen broth. The crowd favourite here is the tonkostu ramen with pork rib, which is equal parts heavy and delicious.

4. Tan Viet

In the past you’d need to travel to Cabramatta for a taste of Tan Viet, but thankfully they’ve recently opened an outpost in Chinatown! Tan Viet’s Darling Square’s location serves up their famous Vietnamese noodle soup and crispy chicken, with all the charm and hospitality of their original restaurant.

5. Mr Bao Buns

Situated in Chinatown’s Darling Square Lobrary building, Mr Bao Buns delivers a contemporary take on the Chinese classic steamed bun. With Pillowy buns and tasty toppings like chicken karaage and pork belly, Mr Bao Buns is a great option if you’re in the market for finger food with a wow factor.

6. Chicken V

Korean Fried Chicken is always a good idea, and when you’re ready for that idea to come to fruition head to Chicken V in Chinatown. Crispy and juicy without being oily at all, our favourite fried chicken flavours here are the soy seasoning and honey butter. The plates are great for sharing over a few bottles of soju, and they’re open until late.
