One of Burwood’s most popular dessert options, Roji Monster serves up desserts that are equal parts adorable and delicious. Do yourself a favour and go for the matcha shaved ice-cream, topped with those iconic googly eyes that the brand is known for. The presentation of everything here at Roji Monster almost looks too good to eat! Once you to get stuck in though, you’ll find the flavours to be refined and truly Japanese - not too sweet, but still incredibly decadent.

2. Air Lab

Fluffy pancakes are definitely a trending dessert right now, and the one’s at Air Lab in Cabramatta are perfectly cooked to be light and fluffy every time. We’re not sure how they make their creamy toppings, but we want the recipe! Almost mousse-like in texture, they definitely add an extra fluffy element to this dessert. You can watch your pancakes cook through the glass window, so you know they’re freshly made to order. At under $10 a serving, it’s one of the cheapest fluffy pancake option in Sydney!

Open late and worth the wait, there’s a reason this ice cream institution always has a line. Messina is our must-visit spot for an easy dessert that wot break the bank. Fruit sorbet, rich chocolate, sweet liquor and everything in between, there’ll be a deliciously creamy option here for everyone’s tastebuds. They always have weekly specials with out-of-this-world flavour combos, so be sure to read the specials board before choosing your scoops! With various locations around Sydney, there’s sure to be one near you.

4. Bay vista

This dessert cafe has been serving up plates of waffles, crepes, pancakes and ice cream for over 25 years, and it’s not hard to see why it’s a favourite for many Sydneysiders. With the lights down low and the music up high, Bay Vista has a social atmosphere. You’ll want to try their famous dessert bowls - giant servings of ice cream and toppings served in glass fishbowls. We can’t get get enough of these crazy treats!

With its two locations (Brighton-Le-Sands and Parramatta) open until late, Bay Vista is a the perfect spot to satisfy your midnight sugar cravings.

5. Valet

If you’re keen to try some Asian fusion sweet treats, get yourself to Valet in Cabramatta. Not only are the desserts here delicious, they also look pretty as a picture too! Our absolute favourite dish here would have to be the matcha brownie. With decent portions and a nice atmosphere, it’s a great place for a romantic date or catch-up with friends.

6. Knafeh

The guys at Knafeh love theatrics, but it’s their sweet cheesy dessert that steals the show. For anyone not familiar with the Knafeh dessert, it’s a traditional Middle Eastern sweet made of baked cheese and breadcrumbs, drenched in sugar syrup - yum! The bearded bakers at Knafeh run as a pop up all over western Sydney, so check their social media to find where they’re baking at any given time.

7. Remi Cone

Why have regular ice cream, when you can go for soft serve gone wild! Tucked down in the Town Hall area is Remicone desert bar, an up-an-coming place for ice cream lovers in Sydney. The soft serve here is made in-house with fresh milk, giving it that oh-so-creamy texture that everyone loves. Our favourite dessert is the brown sugar boba soft serve, but there’s plenty of other crazy toppings that’ll make you eyes and tastes buds do a double take. The atmosphere screams vintage milkshake bar and the taste is creamy and deliciously sweet.

8. Kurtosh

One of the main attractions in Sydney’s vibrant Darling Quarter, Kurtosh is a great late night dessert haven is for sweet tooths. This casual cafe is famed for its namesake dessert, the Hungarian pastry Kürtőskalács, which is grilled to sweet crispy perfection in-house. We love the concept here where you order your dessert by the gram - this means you can have as much or as little as you like, and it’s easy to sample multiple desserts at once. Our go-to options here would have to be the super popular chocolate tiramisu, and the peanut butter slab with layers of creamy chocolate mousse.

9. Xing Fu Tang

Liquid dessert is definitely a thing, right? If you think so, then get yourself down to Xing Fu Tang in Sydney’s Chinatown for a milk tea that’s worth the trip. This Taiwanese tea chain is famous around the world for their brown sugar boba milk, a deliciously sweet drink which is worth the hype.

We don’t know what’s more exciting here - the bubbling pot of brown sugar, freshly made tapioca balls, the blowtorching of the brown sugar crust… or the fact that you can watch the whole process happening in front of your eyes. If you’re feeling extra special, you can gold leaf to your drink as well, which we think everyone should do at least once!

10. Thicc Cookies

Sometimes... you’d rather just skip the fuss of going out and have dessert in your pj’s instead, right? When you’re craving a decadent treat from the comfort of your own home, get yourself some cookies from Thicc Cookies. A quick zap of theses cookies in the microwave and you’ll discover what the hype is all about - gooey, molten centres full of sugary goodness! There’s plenty of delicious flavours to choose from, but the lotus biscoff, apple pie and classic chocolate chip are clear winners in our minds.

Order these bad boys on online, or pick up a cookie bucket from one of the Thicc Cookie weekend market stalls. These cookies also freeze well, which means you can stow a few away for a rainy day - cheering!
