Where To Eat In Parramatta: 7 Best Restaurants

Parramatta has plenty of resturants to choose from - so how do you know which ones are worth visiting? We've put together this list of our favourite places for food in Parramatta, so you can be sure to enjoy your meal in Sydney's western CBD.

EDIT: Since this article was published, Butter and Coffee Emporium have closed.

Butter

Part sneaker store, part restaurant, the main attraction here at Butter is American-style fried chicken with an edgy Japanese twist. If you’re after something decadent and quirky, go for the fried chicken and donut with maple syrup - just the right balance of sweet and savoury. We also love the OG chicken sandwich with its buttery bun and dashi butter, and the Laced Up shoestring fries reminded us of Japanese okonomiyaki.

Mikazuki

Mikazuki is the place to be when you’re in the mood for a hearty Japanese feed. This restaurant is famous around town for their bowls of rich ramen. The crowd favourite here is the Signature Mikazuki Ramen, a tonkostu ramen bowl packed to the rafters with tasty toppings. We definitely recommend getting here early, as there’s usually a line!

Bay vista

Bay Vista’s Parramatta outpost is a popular spot for locals looking to satisfy their late night dessert cravings. With the lights down low and the music up high, you’ll find this dessert bar has a social atmosphere that’s great for a catch up with family or friends. Our favourite pick here are their famous dessert bowls - fishbowls filled with huge servings of ice cream and delicious toppings.

Kanzo

There’s no shortage of Japanese restaurants in Sydney, but Kanzo is one of the best in the West. For those love saucy sushi, we love the cheesy chicken roll - think melted cheese, saucy chicken schnitzel and a slight smokey flavour from the blowtorching. Just make sure you eat this one while it’s hot and fresh, otherwise you’ll find the cheese starts to harden! And our absolute favourite at Kanzo - the grilled salmon roll. You can opt to replace the usual prawn filling with cooked tuna and avocado, which is a total game-changer. Nothing beats a huge sushi roll topped with saucy grilled salmon!

Messina

Open late and worth the wait, there’s a reason why there’s always a line outside this ice creamery. Messina is our go-to spot for pretty much any occasion. Fruit sorbet, rich chocolate, sweet liquor and everything in between, there’ll be a deliciously creamy option here for everyone’s tastebuds. They always have weekly specials with out-of-this-world flavour combos, so be sure to read the specials board before choosing your scoops.

BL burgers

This Western Sydney outpost of Circular Quay’s Bar Luca brings all the best elements of their famous burgers out to the West. Be warned, these aren’t your regular run-of-the-mill burgers. They’re crafted with loads of unique flavours, and are equal parts loaded, messy and delicious. If we had to pick a favourite, it would have to be the ‘Blame Canada’ burger - who could say no to poutine fries on your burger? Not us, that’s for sure!

Coffee Emporium

When you need a coffee and a place to relax, head to the Coffee Emporium. Order a drink and watch the world go by from their picturesque outdoor seating area, designed to embody a little French alleyway. S'il vous plaît and merci!
