One of Sydney’s busiest food markets, the Lakemba Ramadan Night Markets, is back on this year from March 9th-April 7th 2024! This year’s Sydney Ramadan Markets will have over 70 food stalls for crowds to experience, showcasing a variety of cuisines and cultures.

The 2024 Ramadan Night Markets will be held from March 9th-April 7th. The markets start at dusk and run until 3am every day of ramadan.

How do you get to the Lakemba Ramadan Night Markets?

Public transport is the best option for visiting the event - the Lakemba train station is located directly in the middle of the market stalls. Since there are road closures in the areas for the markets, parking is extremely limited.

What can you eat at the Lakemba Ramadan Night Markets?

You will be able to enjoy a variety of delicious foods at the markets including:

  • sahlab - sweet milky drink served hot with cinnamon

  • chip on a stick

  • camel burger

  • murtabak - fried roti-style pastry with savoury fillings

  • chicken skewers

  • lamb skewers

  • knafeh - sweet and cheesy dessert

Do you need cash for the Sydney Ramadan Night Markets?

If you plan on visiting these popular Sydney night markets, make sure you bring cash as some stalls do not have card facilities. There are Commonwealth Bank ATMs on the Night Market street, but these run out of money fairly early on in the night so it’s best to organise cash before arriving.

Tips for visiting Sydney’s Ramadan Night Markets

  1. Be aware that there is limited seating and public toilets in the market vicinity.

  2. Be prepared for lines - it’s going to be busy this year for sure!

  3. There are many stalls selling the same or similar offerings, so be sure to have a look around before buying from the first one you see.

  4. Since the market runs until 3am, it is a good idea to visit later rather than earlier in the night if you want to experience the full atmosphere of the Ramadan night markets.

  5. The Ramadan night markets location is along Haldon St, Lakemba NSW 2195 and the neighbouring streets. Streets have been blocked off by the council for this events so be aware of road closures around the area.
