Butter, Sydney - Review

Part sneaker store, part restaurant, Butter is a streetwear retail hangout with some serious eats.

The main attraction here at Butter is American-style fried chicken with an edgy Japanese twist. Their thigh meat is deliciously juicy and moist, wrapped in a crispy fried batter that’s got a great crunch.

We absolutely loved the OG chicken sandwich with it’s buttery bun and dashi butter, and the Laced Up shoestring fries reminded us of Japanese okonomiyaki which was a huge plus!

If you’re after something decadent and quirky, go for the fried chicken and donut with maple syrup - just the right balance of sweet and savoury. Butter’s fried chicken ramen is another winner, with rich dashi chicken broth and all the usual ramen accompaniments. Not a chicken fan? Don’t worry - there’s also plenty of vegetarian options and loaded sides on the menu.

Apart from chicken, Butter is a great place for a after work cocktail or lazy Sunday beer - they’ve got loads of great drinks which you can enjoy in their alfresco seating area.

Once you’ve polished off your little plate of chicken deliciousness, head up to the loft and check out the fresh kicks - you never know, you may just find your next favourite pair of shoes!
